FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What purity level are the peptides, and how is it verified?
Cleared Peptides supplies materials for laboratory research. A lot is released when HPLC purity is 99% or higher. Lots that do not meet that specification are not sold. These materials are prepared for universities and academic research laboratories, government and public-sector laboratories, hospital and medical-center research departments, diagnostics research groups, contract research organizations, and qualified institutional procurement teams.
An independent ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory tests each released lot. A typical report covers HPLC purity, net peptide content, identity, appearance, a fentanyl screen, heavy metals by ICP-MS, sterility by PCR, and endotoxin. The report for every lot is on our COA page.
What is a Certificate of Analysis, and how do I read it?
A Certificate of Analysis is the laboratory report for one lot. It names the material, the lot number, and the analytical results for that lot.
To read it, match the lot number on the vial label to the lot number on the report. Then compare each result with the specification printed on that same report. Some reports include a QR code or a short verification note from the laboratory. Current reports are on our COA page.
How do I match a vial to its Certificate of Analysis?
The lot number on the vial label is the lot number on the Certificate of Analysis. Open the COA page, find that lot, and check that the compound name on the label matches the identity line on the report.
Which laboratories run the batch tests?
Released lots are tested by independent ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratories. Laboratories used for this catalog are in the United States, Germany, and the Czech Republic. The laboratory that issued a report is named on that report.
Where are the research notes for a compound?
Each compound in the catalog has a research guide in the Learn section. The guide lists public identifiers such as the CAS number, molecular formula, and sequence or structure when a public record exists, plus selected literature.
If no public CAS number exists, the guide says “not available” and gives the reason. The guides are research reference pages. They do not give dosing, administration, or use instructions.
What does research use only mean on this site?
Products on this site are offered for laboratory research. They are not sold or described as supplements, treatments, or products for human administration.
In the United States, intended use matters. A product intended to diagnose, cure, mitigate, treat, or prevent a disease, or intended to affect the structure or function of the human body, may be regulated as a drug. Drugs generally need FDA approval before they are marketed for human use. This site does not claim that research products treat a medical condition, produce a health benefit, or are medicines.
Some medicines have been reviewed and approved by the FDA for specific medical uses. Those finished pharmaceutical products are different from research-grade material supplied for laboratory work. Compounding by licensed pharmacies or registered outsourcing facilities is a separate activity under federal and state rules. A research-chemical supplier is not a compounding pharmacy or a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
What “research use only” means. The phrase is not a label that changes the character of a product. The product has to be marketed and supplied for laboratory research. Placing “research use only” on a product that is otherwise intended for human use does not make that product a lawful research product.
Cleared Peptides research products are not FDA-approved drugs. They are not offered for human or veterinary use. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent any disease. They are not described as safe or effective for human administration. The site does not provide medical advice, treatment protocols, dosing instructions, or recommendations for human administration.
Information on this website is for scientific discussion of laboratory research. It should not be read as medical advice or as instructions for human use. The distinction between laboratory research materials and pharmaceutical products intended for patients is stated so researchers, customers, and the public can see it clearly.
Why is the same lot sent to more than one laboratory?
The same lot may be tested at more than one laboratory. Lots that are available in more than one region are checked so the reports can be compared. If two reports for the same lot do not agree, the lot is sent to a third laboratory before it is released. That comparison checks the laboratory result. The methods on the report are the ones named for that lot on our COA page.
